Budgets are tight, we all know this. Especially for college students or recent graduates who have a mountain of college loans before them. Cutting corners is how we manage to survive, and (attempt to) pay off those loans. Mandatory things that are typically not ignored:
- Food
- Housing
- Car Expensive (gas, insurance…)
- Pets
What is typically ignored:
- Haircuts
- Dental Appointments
- Car Repairs (Routine or otherwise)
These things all should be done, but can get very expensive and wreak havoc on your budget. Something most people over look are colleges! Dental Hygiene programs are always looking for people to get their teeth cleaned by the students for cheaper than you'd pay at a typical dentist, granted it may take a little longer but for the price it is a great deal.
The same thing goes for haircuts and car repairs; look for training schools or technical colleges in your area to find out what they offer. You may be surprised at all they can do, and the great thing is that the instructors oversee the work being done to ensure a high standard of quality.
The biggest concern is the time line, so make sure you look into how long these things take, you may or may not find it a good deal for you depending on how urgent you need things done.
It's always worth looking at, and it may save you a lot of money!
